Pune-based deep-tech company Aeron Systems has secured ₹45 crore in a Pre-Series B funding round, giving the navigation and sensing technology developer fresh capital to expand manufacturing and accelerate its next phase of growth.
The round was jointly led by Riverwalk Holdings and MGF-Kavachh (MountTech Growth Fund). Aeron plans to deploy the investment across manufacturing expansion, research and development, product innovation and international growth, with particular emphasis on its advanced inertial navigation technologies.
The investment comes as reliable positioning and navigation systems are becoming increasingly important for aerospace and defence platforms operating in environments where satellite-based navigation can be disrupted, jammed or spoofed.
Funding to Expand Manufacturing and R&D
Aeron Systems said the new capital will help it increase manufacturing capabilities for advanced inertial navigation systems while accelerating research and development.
The company also intends to use the funding to address growing customer demand and expand its footprint in overseas markets.
Aeron Co-Founder and CEO Ashvani Shukla described the investment as an important milestone as the company moves into its next phase of growth.

Why Inertial Navigation Technology Matters

Conventional satellite navigation systems such as GPS provide highly useful positioning information, but defence platforms may have to operate in environments where satellite signals are unavailable, deliberately jammed or manipulated through spoofing.
Inertial navigation systems use onboard sensors to calculate parameters such as movement, orientation and position without continuously depending on an external satellite signal.
That capability makes resilient navigation technology particularly important for military aircraft, drones, missiles, naval platforms and other systems expected to operate in contested environments.

More Than 10,000 Inertial Systems Deployed
Aeron says it has deployed more than 10,000 inertial systems and over 2,500 weather stations worldwide during its 18 years of operations.
According to the company, its equipment operates across demanding environments ranging from high-altitude cold deserts to tropical regions.
Its customer base includes some of India's most prominent defence and aerospace organisations, including Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the Indian Army and the Indian Navy.
These deployments provide Aeron with an established operating base as it seeks to increase production and pursue international opportunities.
Investors See Opportunity in Resilient Navigation
The investment also reflects growing interest in companies developing technologies that can reduce dependence on external systems and imported strategic components.
Riverwalk Holdings Principal Abhishek Singh highlighted inertial navigation for GPS-denied, spoofed and jammed environments as one of the major opportunities behind Aeron's technology portfolio.
The company is also building technology for utility-scale solar applications through a combination of hardware and software, giving Aeron exposure to both strategic aerospace and defence markets and renewable-energy infrastructure.
MGF-Kavachh, meanwhile, focuses on deep technology, aerospace and national security investments. The fund has positioned Aeron as a company capable of contributing to India's domestic strategic-technology ecosystem.
India's Defence-Tech Ecosystem Gains Momentum
Aeron's funding arrives as Indian companies increasingly attempt to develop domestically engineered components and systems for aerospace, defence and other strategically important industries.
Navigation and sensing technologies represent an important part of that ecosystem because sophisticated platforms depend not only on major systems such as aircraft or missiles but also on the underlying sensors, electronics, avionics and positioning technologies that allow those platforms to operate effectively.
Companies capable of designing and manufacturing these technologies domestically can therefore play a role in reducing dependence on overseas suppliers while potentially creating export opportunities.
For Aeron, the ₹45 crore round provides capital to turn its existing technology deployments into a larger manufacturing and international business.
