The final chapter of Vijay Salgaonkar’s story is moving another step closer to cinemas. The theatrical trailer of Drishyam: The Conclusion, starring Ajay Devgn, has reportedly been cleared by the CBFC, clearing the way for its much-awaited public launch ahead of the film’s October release.
According to Bollywood Hungama, the Central Board of Film Certification cleared the trailer on September 1, 2026, granting it a U/A 16+ certificate. The approved trailer has a runtime of 2 minutes and 52 seconds.
The certification comes exactly as the promotional campaign for the thriller begins accelerating. First-look posters of key characters were unveiled recently, including Ajay Devgn’s return as Vijay Salgaonkar.
Trailer Reportedly Heading for a Grand Goa Launch
With CBFC clearance secured, attention now turns to when audiences will actually see the trailer.
Bollywood Hungama reports that the makers are planning a major trailer-launch event in Goa, a location closely associated with the Hindi Drishyam franchise. The event is expected to feature the film's principal cast.
A separate report says the event is expected to take place on September 8 or September 9, although the makers had not formally confirmed the precise date in the cited report.
That distinction matters: the CBFC clearance and trailer duration have been reported, while the exact launch date should still be treated as expected rather than officially locked unless the production announces it.
Ajay Devgn Returns as Vijay Salgaonkar
At the centre of Drishyam: The Conclusion is once again Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar, one of the actor's most recognisable thriller characters.
The recently released first-look poster presents Vijay in an intense, contemplative mood, signalling that the consequences of his past actions remain central to the final film.
The returning cast includes Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, Rajat Kapoor and Kamlesh Sawant, while the concluding instalment also adds major new names.
Jaideep Ahlawat joins the film as SP Rajveer Singh Tomar, while Prakash Raj appears as lawyer Indrajith Shetty.

Drishyam: The Conclusion is directed by Abhishek Pathak, who previously directed the successful Hindi sequel Drishyam 2.
The screenplay is credited to Abhishek Pathak, Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. The film is produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak and presented by Star Studio18 as a Panorama Studios production.
The movie is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 2, 2026. The release date was announced well in advance through the franchise's official announcement campaign.

The Hindi franchise, however, has developed its own casting and filmmaking identity around Ajay Devgn's Vijay Salgaonkar.
That distinction will be especially important for The Conclusion. Viewers familiar with the Malayalam film may naturally look for similarities, but the Hindi production's new cast additions—including Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj—give it scope to shape its own version of the final confrontation.
