Salman Khan Asks Paparazzi to Keep Distance During ‘Bigg Boss 20’ Shoot
The promotional run-up to Bigg Boss 20 briefly shifted away from the reality show itself after Salman Khan had a tense exchange with photographers gathered around the set.
Khan, who is returning as host, initially posed for pictures during the shoot. Video from the set later showed him asking photographers to move back from the stage and reacting to continued calls for more photographs.
“Yeh mera kaam nahi hai. Mujhe camera ke aage aane ki koi zarurat nahi hai,” Khan told them, meaning, “This is not my job. I don’t need to come in front of the camera.”
As photographers continued calling out, he responded: “Photos… photos… photos.”
The short exchange quickly became the most widely discussed moment from the shoot. The footage, however, also shows a less confrontational side of the interaction: Khan posed for the cameras and was later photographed with members of the paparazzi and the programme’s production crew.
A brief disagreement, not a confirmed wider dispute
Some reports characterised Khan as angry or said he had “lost his cool”. The footage confirms that he objected to photographers getting too close and appeared frustrated by the repeated requests. It does not, on its own, establish a broader dispute between the actor and the photographers.
That distinction matters because the exchange took place during an otherwise routine promotional appearance.
Khan had already accommodated photographers before objecting to their proximity. He subsequently joined group photographs with people working around the production.
There has been no confirmed indication from the reports surrounding the episode that the disagreement continued beyond the interaction captured on camera.
Cowboy-inspired look marks Salman’s return to the set
The shoot also provided an early look at Khan's styling for the new season.
The 60-year-old actor appeared in a dark brown leather cowboy hat decorated with a silver steer buckle. He paired it with a navy T-shirt, olive-green vest and dark denim, along with a belt featuring silver detailing.
His familiar turquoise bracelet was also part of the look.
Khan later shared photographs from the Bigg Boss 20 stage on Instagram, keeping the accompanying message simple: “#Biggboss20.”
For a programme closely associated with its host, the shoot effectively served as the start of the final promotional push before the new season goes on air.
Bigg Boss 20 premieres September 6
Bigg Boss 20 is scheduled to premiere on September 6, 2026, with the Hindi edition airing on Colors TV and streaming on JioHotstar.
The latest season will introduce a redesigned house built around a duality concept, incorporating surreal and fantasy-inspired elements into familiar spaces used by contestants.
September 6 will also be a significant date for the wider Bigg Boss franchise. Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam editions are scheduled to premiere on the same day.
The Hindi programme, however, continues to be closely identified with Khan, whose interactions with contestants have long been central to its weekend episodes and promotional identity.
Viral clip adds an unscripted moment to the pre-premiere campaign
Celebrity-paparazzi exchanges regularly travel beyond the circumstances in which they were filmed, particularly when a short clip captures irritation or disagreement. Khan's appearance is another example of how a few seconds from a promotional shoot can become a story of its own.
In this case, the available footage provides useful context. Khan clearly objected to the photographers' proximity and repeated requests, but he also posed for photographs during the same appearance.
The episode is therefore better understood as a brief moment of friction during the Bigg Boss 20 shoot rather than evidence of a larger confrontation.
With the September 6 premiere approaching, the publicity surrounding the show will soon turn to its contestants, the redesigned house and Khan's return to the hosting role that has become one of his most recognisable television assignments.
