Mahira Khan Announces Second Pregnancy at 41, Shares Baby Bump Photo During TIFF 2026

Pakistani actor Mahira Khan is preparing to become a mother for the second time.

The 41-year-old star shared the news publicly during her visit to the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2026, posting a photograph in which her baby bump is clearly visible beneath a flowing white gown.

Keeping the announcement understated, Khan accompanied the photograph with a brief message:

“We make plans and then there is ALLAH’S plan.”

The announcement marks a new chapter for Khan and her husband, businessman Salim Karim. The couple married in October 2023, and the child will be their first together. Khan is already mother to her son Azlan from her previous marriage to Ali Askari.

Mahira Khan Reveals Pregnancy During TIFF Visit

Khan's pregnancy announcement coincided with a prominent international appearance at TIFF 2026.

In the photograph shared on social media, the actor wore a long white gown and rested one hand on her baby bump. Rather than issuing a detailed statement about her pregnancy, she allowed the image and her short caption to convey the news.

Her appearance quickly attracted attention online, with fans and well-wishers congratulating the actor.

During her time at TIFF, Khan also moderated a conversation connected with the festival's Community Impact programming and was honoured for her contribution to cinema.

First Child With Husband Salim Karim

The pregnancy will bring another addition to Khan's family nearly three years after her marriage to Salim Karim.

Khan and Karim married in October 2023 in an intimate ceremony. Her son Azlan was also part of the wedding celebrations.

The upcoming baby will be Khan's second child and her first with Karim.

Khan had previously been married to Ali Askari. The former couple share Azlan and separated in 2015.

Earlier Pregnancy Rumours Were Denied

The confirmed announcement is particularly notable because Khan had faced pregnancy speculation before.

In February 2024, reports circulated online claiming that she was expecting a child with Karim and had withdrawn from acting projects because of the pregnancy.

Khan directly rejected those reports at the time, saying:

“It’s not true that I’m pregnant. And I haven’t left the Netflix series.”

That earlier denial is important context: the 2024 speculation should not be confused with her pregnancy announcement in 2026.

From ‘Humsafar’ to International Recognition

Khan has built one of the most prominent careers in Pakistan's entertainment industry, working across television and film.

She became widely recognised for performances in projects including Humsafar, Shehr-e-Zaat, Sadqay Tumhare, Bin Roye, Superstar and The Legend of Maula Jatt.

Indian audiences also know her from Raees, in which she starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

Her TIFF 2026 appearance therefore brought together two significant moments — another international platform for her career and the public announcement of a major change in her personal life.

A Personal Announcement on an International Stage

Khan chose a restrained approach to announcing her pregnancy, without sharing details such as a due date or the baby's gender in the reports available at the time of publication.

What has been confirmed is that the actor is expecting her second child and that it will be her first with Salim Karim.

Her brief message — placing life's unexpected turns above personal plans — gave the announcement a distinctly personal tone despite coming during one of the film industry's major international events.
