Sustainable agritech startup Rize has announced the successful completion of a $31 million Series B funding round, reinforcing investor confidence in climate-focused agricultural innovation. The financing includes $20 million in equity and $11 million in debt, bringing together financial institutions and climate-focused investors committed to transforming rice cultivation across Southeast Asia.

The newly raised capital will be used to expand sustainable rice farming programs, strengthen digital agriculture technologies, enhance field-to-buyer traceability, and introduce AI-powered tools that support both farmers and agricultural field teams. The company also plans to grow its presence in additional Southeast Asian markets while increasing exports of sustainably produced rice.

Rice is one of the world's most important food crops, feeding billions of people every day. At the same time, traditional rice cultivation contributes significantly to methane emissions and water consumption. Rize focuses on helping farmers adopt more sustainable farming methods that reduce environmental impact while maintaining crop productivity and improving long-term profitability.

The company currently works with thousands of smallholder farmers across Vietnam and Indonesia, promoting climate-friendly cultivation practices, improving supply chain transparency, and connecting farmers with international buyers seeking sustainably produced rice. By combining agronomy expertise with digital technology, Rize aims to make sustainable agriculture more accessible and economically viable for farming communities.

Growing demand for climate-resilient agriculture has increased global investment in agritech companies developing solutions that reduce emissions, improve water efficiency, and strengthen food security. Governments, investors, and food companies are increasingly supporting technologies that help modernize agricultural production while addressing environmental challenges.

Alongside expanding sustainable farming practices, Rize intends to invest in AI-driven advisory tools, carbon certification initiatives, and digital platforms that provide better insights for farmers, supply chain partners, and agricultural businesses. These technologies are expected to improve decision-making while supporting more transparent and efficient food production systems.

The funding also reflects the growing importance of sustainable agriculture within the broader climate-tech ecosystem. As food systems face increasing pressure from climate change, companies developing scalable, technology-enabled farming solutions are attracting stronger investor interest across global markets.

With this latest funding, Rize aims to significantly expand its impact by supporting more farmers, increasing sustainable rice production, and helping build a more resilient agricultural ecosystem across Southeast Asia over the coming years.
