Salman Khan’s upcoming film Monster has secured a major theatrical distribution arrangement well ahead of its planned Eid 2027 release, adding momentum to one of the actor’s biggest forthcoming projects.
PVR INOX Pictures will release the Vamshi Paidipally-directed film in India, according to Kamal Gianchandani, Chief Business Planning & Strategy at PVR INOX Limited and CEO of PVR INOX Pictures Limited.
Separately, Bollywood Hungama reported on September 24, citing sources, that PVR INOX has acquired the film’s all-India distribution rights for ₹100 crore. The report described the arrangement as a refundable advance. The ₹100 crore valuation and deal structure should currently be treated as trade-reported information rather than officially disclosed financial terms.
PVR INOX Confirms Monster for Eid 2027
The company’s involvement with the film is confirmed.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama about PVR INOX Pictures’ upcoming slate, Gianchandani said:
“Besides Hollywood, we also have Mauja Hi Mauja with Akshay Kumar, which is coming out towards the end of November. We are also releasing Mr Salman Khan’s Monster, which will release on Eid 2027.”
He described Monster and Mauja Hi Mauja as two of the company’s anticipated Bollywood releases.
That confirmation establishes PVR INOX Pictures as the theatrical distributor for Monster, while the reported ₹100 crore acquisition value comes from separate industry-source reporting.
Report: ₹100 Crore Structured as Refundable Advance
According to Bollywood Hungama’s September 24 report, the distribution arrangement is worth ₹100 crore and has been structured as a refundable advance.
A source quoted by the publication said PVR INOX was confident about the film’s commercial prospects despite the size of the commitment.
The source further claimed that the distributor intends to mount a wide theatrical release over the Eid 2027 weekend.
Neither the producers nor PVR INOX had publicly disclosed the ₹100 crore financial figure in the material reviewed at the time of publication.
Why the Distribution Deal Matters
The agreement gives Monster access to an established distribution operation ahead of a major holiday release.
PVR INOX Pictures has handled Indian distribution for films including Sooryavanshi, 83, Vikram Vedha, Article 370, Stree 2, Singham Again, Sitaare Zameen Par, Thamma and Dhurandhar, among others.
Securing distribution this far ahead of release also gives the film considerable time for theatrical planning, including screen allocation and the broader release strategy for the Eid period.
The reported ₹100 crore figure, however, should not be confused with a guaranteed box-office collection or profit. A distribution advance is part of the commercial arrangement surrounding theatrical rights; the movie’s eventual theatrical performance will determine its actual box-office outcome.
Salman Khan and Nayanthara Team Up for First Time
Monster brings together Salman Khan and Nayanthara for the first time.
The film is being directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the National Award-winning filmmaker whose credits include Telugu films such as Maharshi.
Dil Raju is presenting the project under Sri Venkateswara Creations. Bollywood Hungama identifies Shirish and Kuldeep Rathore as producers and Rafi Kazi as co-producer.
Reports differ slightly on additional cast details. The September 24 distribution report names Arvind Swami in a key role, while an earlier interview-based Bollywood Hungama report names Muzammil Ibrahim alongside Salman Khan and Nayanthara.
Monster Currently in Production
The film is presently being shot, with an overseas schedule planned for October, according to the latest report.
Trade-source claims cited by Bollywood Hungama suggest Salman will appear in multiple looks in the movie. Those descriptions remain promotional or source-based claims rather than independently verifiable details about the finished film.
Earlier reporting described Monster as a large-scale pan-India action project intended for audiences across Hindi, Telugu and Tamil markets.
Eid 2027 Release Adds to Expectations
Monster is currently scheduled for an Eid 2027 theatrical release, a date now directly referenced by PVR INOX Pictures CEO Kamal Gianchandani.
For Salman Khan, Eid has historically been an important theatrical window, making the combination of a holiday release, a new collaboration with Nayanthara and Vamshi Paidipally, and a nationwide PVR INOX Pictures distribution strategy central to the film’s pre-release positioning.
The reported ₹100 crore agreement adds another significant commercial marker. Its ultimate significance, however, will depend on the film’s release scale, audience response and theatrical performance when Monster arrives in cinemas next year.
