Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while addressing a panel discussion in France, said that India's expanding middle-class consumption is playing a crucial role in sustaining the country's economic growth. She noted that robust domestic demand has helped India remain one of the world's fastest-growing major economies despite global economic challenges.

Sitharaman also highlighted the government's focus on infrastructure development, digital transformation, financial inclusion, and policy reforms that have strengthened economic resilience. She pointed out that increasing consumer spending, a growing workforce, and continued investments are contributing to India's long-term growth prospects.

The Finance Minister reiterated that India's economic fundamentals remain strong and expressed confidence in the country's ability to maintain steady growth through a combination of domestic consumption, investment, and structural reforms.
