Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has clarified concerns surrounding E20 petrol, stating that motorists may experience a slight drop in mileage but should not worry about vehicle damage if they are using compatible vehicles.
According to Gadkari, the impact on fuel efficiency is "marginal," while the environmental and economic benefits of ethanol blending outweigh the small reduction in mileage. The government's push for E20 fuel is part of a broader strategy to reduce dependence on imported crude oil, support domestic ethanol production, and cut carbon emissions.
Automobile manufacturers have increasingly introduced E20-compatible vehicles, and the government continues to encourage consumers to adopt cleaner fuel alternatives as India advances toward its sustainability goals.
