Upcoming Marriage Draws Attention Amid Maharashtra Political Battle
Industrialist and BJP candidate Arun Lakhani has said that politics and family relationships should be viewed separately as his son Sarang Lakhani prepares to marry Revati, the daughter of NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule, later this month.
Lakhani, who has been fielded by the BJP for the Chandrapur-Wardha-Gadchiroli seat in the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Council elections, addressed growing discussion around the political significance of the marriage alliance between families associated with rival political camps
Speaking after being announced as the BJP candidate, Lakhani said that while the Pawar family is one of Maharashtra’s most influential political families, personal relationships and political ideologies are separate matters. He stated that both families remain committed to their respective political beliefs despite the upcoming marriage.
According to reports, Sarang Lakhani and Revati Sule are scheduled to marry on June 20, just days after the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections on June 18. The development has attracted significant attention because it connects a senior BJP leader’s family with one of the state's most prominent opposition political families.
Lakhani also expressed confidence in his electoral prospects, saying voters support candidates who work for public welfare and development. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Maharashtra BJP leadership for placing their trust in him.
