Greater Noida, September 20, 2026: Four students were injured after a car allegedly being driven recklessly during a stunt near a college in Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park area veered towards the roadside and hit them. Police later arrested the driver and seized the vehicle involved in the incident.
The collision, which occurred on Friday, September 18, was captured on video and subsequently circulated widely on social media. Police identified the arrested driver as Manish, a resident of Ladpura in the Greater Noida area.
One of the students suffered a leg fracture, while the other three sustained comparatively minor injuries, according to police-based reports.
What Happened Outside the Greater Noida College?
According to police accounts, several vehicles were allegedly being used to perform stunts near the college when the incident occurred.
The car involved in the collision, a Maruti Alto, was allegedly being driven in circles or repeatedly spun on the road. During one such manoeuvre, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car moved towards the roadside or footpath and struck four students.
Video footage circulating online shows the vehicle suddenly veering towards the students before hitting them. The car then stopped briefly before leaving the area.
Police reports identified the four injured students as Gaurav, Ayush, Krish and Mohit.
BCA Student Suffers Leg Fracture
The injured students were taken to a nearby hospital following the collision.
According to police-based reporting, Gaurav, a BCA student, suffered a fracture in his leg. The other three students sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment.
Reports indicate that the students survived the collision and no fatalities were reported.
There is a slight variation in published accounts of Gaurav’s injury: some initial police-based reports described a leg injury as minor, while other reports, including later detailed coverage, said he suffered a fracture. The latter detail is reported by multiple outlets.
Driver Arrested, Car Seized
The driver initially left the scene after the collision, according to police.
Investigators examined CCTV footage from the surrounding area as well as videos circulating on social media to identify the vehicle and trace the person driving it.
Police subsequently arrested Manish and seized the Alto involved in the collision.
Greater Noida Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravi Shankar Nim said an FIR had been registered under the relevant legal provisions. Police are also working to identify other people allegedly involved in the stunt-driving activity.
Other Cars Were Allegedly Involved in Stunts
Police-based reports indicate that the Alto was not the only vehicle allegedly being driven in this manner near the college.
A Baleno and Hyundai i20 were also reported to have been among vehicles involved in stunt-driving activity around the location.
Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and the involvement of other individuals. Any responsibility beyond that of the arrested driver remains subject to the police investigation.
Viral Video Becomes Key Evidence
The incident gained wider attention after video footage surfaced online.
The footage, along with CCTV recordings from around the area, helped police trace the vehicle, according to reports.
The case also illustrates how dangerous driving on public roads can put pedestrians and bystanders at risk even when they are away from moving traffic.
Investigation Continues
Police have registered a case, arrested the driver and taken the vehicle into custody. Authorities are continuing their investigation into others who may have participated in the alleged stunt-driving activity.
