Burglary reported near Nagercoil
A social media influencer from Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari district and her family have reported the theft of gold and diamond jewellery and cash valued at around ₹1 crore after burglars broke into their home near Nagercoil.
The incident occurred on the evening of September 24 at the residence of 29-year-old content creator Madhumitha and her husband Vinoth Kumar, a cardamom export businessman, in the VIP Garden area. Police said the missing property included approximately 118 sovereigns of gold jewellery, diamond ornaments and ₹50,000 in cash. The gold alone corresponds to roughly 944 grams based on the eight-gram sovereign measure cited in reports. The News Minute

Why Madhumitha’s social media posts are being examined
Madhumitha has posted lifestyle content showing jewellery, gold purchases and cash. Some posts also reportedly disclosed details about family outings and shopping plans. One widely circulated video showed ₹500 notes being showered over her young child. The Indian Express
Police are now examining that online activity as part of their investigation. However, it has not been established that the burglars actually monitored the posts or used information from them to plan the burglary.
