Who Is Pandit Chandrashekhar Sharma?

Pandit Chandrashekhar Sharma has become a recognisable figure at several high-profile religious ceremonies involving the Ambani family. His appearances at events connected with Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding brought him wider public attention, but his professional association with prominent clients extends beyond a single celebration.

Sharma works as a Vedic astrologer, priest and spiritual guide. His professional platform Prana says his work covers astrology, puja, vastu and wedding ceremonies, while its gallery contains photographs explicitly described as showing Sharma at the Ambani wedding and with members of the Ambani family.

Independent reporting provides additional evidence of that connection. Aaj Tak interviewed Sharma in 2024 and identified him as the priest who conducted Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding. Sharma explained the religious significance of bells and conch shells used during Hindu wedding rituals.

His recurring appearances raise an obvious question: who is the priest trusted to participate in some of India's most closely watched private celebrations?

The available evidence provides a clearer picture of Sharma’s career, although several popular claims about his precise status within the Ambani family and what he charges require more careful treatment.

A Career Rooted in Family Tradition

According to Prana, Sharma began learning under the guidance of his father, Pandit Kishanlal Sharma.

The organisation says knowledge was passed down through his family lineage and that Sharma combined that traditional education with his own study of jyotish, or Vedic astrology. Prana currently describes its team as being trained according to guidelines established by Sharma.

This information comes from Sharma's own professional organisation, so it should be understood as first-party biographical information rather than independently documented career history.

Today, the services offered under the Prana platform extend beyond horoscope consultations.

The company lists four principal areas: astrology, puja, vastu and weddings. Its consultation platform also connects customers with a team of astrologers working according to methods associated with C.K. Sharma.

That broader professional profile is important because Sharma is sometimes described simply as a wedding priest. His publicly advertised work encompasses both the performance of religious ceremonies and astrological consultation.

His Connection With the Ambani Family

Sharma attracted widespread attention during the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in July 2024, one of the most extensively covered celebrity and business-family weddings in India.

Lokmat Times reported that Sharma conducted the wedding rituals and had also participated in the couple's pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar.

Aaj Tak subsequently interviewed him specifically about a ritual seen during the wedding. Sharma explained that the sounds of bells and conch shells are traditionally regarded as auspicious and are used in religious ceremonies.

There is also substantial first-party visual evidence.

Prana's current gallery contains images labelled “Pandit Chandrashekhar Sharma at Ambani Wedding” and several photographs labelled “Pandit Chandrashekhar Sharma with the Ambani Family.”

Older reporting also documents his presence at Ambani-associated events, including Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations and gatherings involving the Mumbai Indians cricket franchise. Navbharat Times reported in 2024 that Sharma had shared photographs from Ambani ceremonies and an earlier photograph featuring members of the Mumbai Indians family.

Together, these sources establish more than a one-off connection: Sharma has repeatedly been documented at events involving the family.

Is Chandrashekhar Sharma Officially the Ambani Family's “Chief Priest”?

This description requires some caution.

Sharma is frequently described by Indian media as the Ambani family's priest, astrologer or spiritual adviser. His own professional gallery clearly documents his presence with family members, while independent reporting confirms his involvement in important ceremonies.

What is less clear is whether “chief family priest” is an official title.

JantaScope could not locate an authoritative statement from Reliance Industries or an identified Ambani family representative formally appointing Sharma under that specific designation.

There is therefore an important difference between saying Pandit Chandrashekhar Sharma is a priest and astrologer associated with Ambani family events and presenting “chief family priest” as a formally confirmed position.

The first description is well supported by available evidence. The second remains unverified.

Similarly, some reports make broader claims about Sharma advising the family before important decisions. Those assertions should not automatically be inferred from his documented presence at religious ceremonies.

More Than a Priest: Astrology, Vastu and Spiritual Guidance

Sharma's professional activities extend considerably beyond conducting weddings.

Prana advertises astrology consultations, pujas, vastu services and wedding-related religious services. It says its astrologers and priests are trained according to Sharma's guidelines.

Its gallery also features photographs labelled as Sharma with singer Sonu Nigam and actor Rajinikanth, as well as references to Mumbai Indians.

Navbharat Times reported that an earlier professional profile also described Sharma as a personal coach and lifestyle motivator.

These associations help explain why his public profile differs from that of a priest whose work is limited primarily to performing temple or household ceremonies.

At the same time, descriptions of Sharma as a highly successful or trusted astrologer are reputational claims rather than objectively measurable facts. Astrology itself is not scientifically established as a method for reliably predicting future events. References to astrology in this article describe Sharma's professional practice rather than endorsing astrological claims.

What Does Pandit Chandrashekhar Sharma Charge?

This is one area where older information and Sharma's current business model appear to differ.

Reports published around the Ambani wedding in 2024 cited prices that were apparently displayed on Sharma's professional website at the time.

Navbharat Times reported figures including ₹1,000 for horoscope reading, ₹1,000 for selecting an auspicious muhurat, ₹5,000 for certain pujas and ₹25,000 for marriage rituals.

Lokmat Times similarly reported a ₹25,000 charge for marriage rituals, including the materials required for the ceremony.

Those figures should not be interpreted as what Sharma charged the Ambani family.

More importantly, his current Prana pricing policy uses a different system.

Prana now states that consultation fees are dynamically determined after a telephone or WhatsApp discussion. Customers explain which service they require—such as an astrology reading or vastu consultation—and are then given a customised quotation. The site says quoted prices include GST.

Therefore, the most accurate conclusion is that publicly reported standard prices existed for some services in the past, while Prana's current policy uses customised pricing.

JantaScope found no authoritative evidence establishing how much Sharma was paid for conducting Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding ceremonies.

Any specific claim about the amount paid by the Ambani family should therefore be treated as unverified unless confirmed by Sharma or the family.

Why His Role at the Ambani Wedding Drew Attention

The scale of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding naturally put many participants under an unusually intense spotlight.

Yet beyond the international celebrities, business leaders and entertainment personalities who attended, traditional Hindu rituals remained a central component of the wedding.

Sharma's role offered a glimpse into that less-discussed aspect of the celebration.

His 2024 conversation with Aaj Tak, for example, addressed why guests were seen ringing bells during the wedding ceremony. Sharma said bells and conch shells have an auspicious role in Hindu religious ceremonies and are associated with invoking the divine.

That explanation demonstrates that his participation extended beyond simply appearing alongside the family: he was directly involved in explaining and conducting elements of the religious ceremony.

A Public Profile That Continues Beyond the Wedding

Sharma's visibility did not end with the 2024 wedding.

In 2025, Maharashtra Times reported on footage showing him performing a puja involving a private aircraft. The report identified him in connection with the Ambani family and noted his earlier participation in Anant and Radhika's wedding rituals.

Meanwhile, Prana continues to prominently feature Sharma and his professional team, suggesting that his practice has increasingly developed into an organised service platform rather than being centred solely around his individual consultations.

His association with one of India's most prominent business families has undoubtedly increased public curiosity, but the available evidence shows that his professional identity is broader: priest, astrologer, spiritual adviser and mentor to a team offering religious and astrological services.

What Is Verified — and What Remains Unconfirmed

Several aspects of Pandit Chandrashekhar Sharma's story can be established with reasonable confidence.

His professional organisation identifies him as a priest and astrologer whose work includes astrology, puja, vastu and weddings. Prana says he learned under his father, Pandit Kishanlal Sharma, and its gallery provides extensive visual documentation of Sharma at Ambani family events.

Independent reporting confirms his involvement in Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's 2024 wedding, including Aaj Tak's direct interview with him about rituals performed during the ceremony.

However, three claims require qualification.

First, JantaScope could not independently verify that “chief family priest” is an official title bestowed on Sharma by the Ambani family.

Second, no authoritative evidence reviewed by JantaScope establishes the amount the Ambani family personally paid Sharma for wedding or other religious services.

Third, claims that he is consulted before major Ambani family or business decisions have appeared in secondary coverage, but JantaScope did not find sufficient primary evidence to present such claims as established fact.
